How to apply for the Master of Applied Finance (Advanced)

Entry requirements

The minimum entry requirements for the Master of Applied Finance (Advanced) are:

  • A Bachelor's degree or recognised equivalent, and
  • Two years’ relevant professional work experience*
  • If your prior degree isn’t in a finance or business discipline, you’ll need to study up to 4 gateway units.
  • Evidence of proficiency in English. For more information see English Language Requirements.

  1. Current Resume
  2. Personal Statement Form PDF, 606.52 KB (Download for completion – comprising 10 questions, with no more than 150 words for each response)
  3. Official academic transcript(s) from prior degrees (with conferral date)
  4. Proof of employment and verification of length of service
    1. Letter from employer OR
    2. A current payslip
  5. Proof of Citizenship or Residency Status (i.e. passport)

Optional documents

  1. Log of Continuing Professional development activities over the last two years
  2. List of Industry Professional memberships where membership has been held for more than one year
  3. Proof of successful completion of professional accreditation

English Language Requirement

Applicants who have not undertaken recognised studies taught in English (i.e. undergraduate degree) are required to demonstrate proficiency in English. Find out more about English Language Requirements.


Compulsory orientation is scheduled in the first week of the term for the Master of Applied Finance (Advanced). Please ensure you are available to attend. Please refer to the key dates for more information.

  1. Register for an information session (recommended)
  2. Complete an online application form and submit required documentation
  3. The first stage of the application process is evidence based. You will receive an email from us when your application has been processed.
  4. Eligible applicants will be invited to undertake an interview, where you will have the opportunity to discuss your application and ask questions about the program.
