The advisory group for Risk Management comprises of industry leaders. Our students benefit from this group's valuable advice on curriculum design, ensuring it's relevancy for Australian and global markets.

Manny joined ANZ in 2008 and in that time has headed up the Australian Wholesale Credit team, the Structured Credit Risk team as well as being the Head of Risk Strategy & Enablement. Prior to the ANZ, Manny worked at the NAB for over 6 years heading up both Risk and Business units, including Managing Director & Global Head of Securitisation, Managing Director & Global Head Credit, General Manager Credit (Retail & Wholesale) Australia, as well as other senior roles within Institutional Credit.

Since beginning his banking career in 1988, Manny has worked across both risk and business roles in Retail, Business, Corporate & Institutional Banking covering sectors such as Natural Resources, Project Finance, Structured Finance & Securitisation at the ANZ, CBA, NAB, Standard & Poor’s and Bank of America. Over his banking career Manny has worked in and managed teams across Australia and New Zealand, Asia, London and New York.

Manny holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree from La Trobe University, a Graduate Diploma in Banking & Finance from Monash University and a Masters in Applied Finance from Macquarie University.

In her current role, she is responsible for developing and embedding the oversight framework for G20 OTC derivative regulations across Australia, NZ, UK, Asia and US.  

Lynn has also worked as a consultant to AFMA for their FX and Risk Management education modules. She actively supports the collaboration between Macquarie University Applied Finance Centre and NAB mentoring female students in the Master’s program.

Lynn has particular interests in risk culture, conduct, workplace diversity and leadership.

Past employers include State Bank of New South Wales, Bank Brussels Lambert (BBL), Westpac and GE Capital.

Immediately prior to joining ABAL James spent six years at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) as a Senior Manager in its Specialised Institutions Division.  In addition to this key supervisory role James was a member of APRA’s internal ADI Industry Group and led / or participated in many internal working groups to develop / implement key aspects of prudential regulation. 

James is a FCPA, a Senior Fellow of FINSIA, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD) and has a Masters of Applied Finance (Macquarie) and an MBA (AGSM).

He is recognised internationally as an industry expert on credit risk processes, frameworks/ appetite  and practices and technical author of prudential standards and guidance on risk requirements, including the Mortgage Lending Prudential Practice Guide and IRB Accreditations.

He has been a regular keynote speaker at various local and overseas conferences representing APRA's view on credit risk management.

Prior to his time at APRA, Glenn developed and implemented credit risk framework and policy regime; mostly devoted to institutional banking/ group treasury areas and led and performed risk diagnostics on credit portfolios in institutional lending I large corporate space and other complex risks.

Glenn is a Senior Fellow at FINSIA and an early winner of the former AIBF Young Banker of the Year. Glenn holds a Bachelor of Business in banking and finance, a Masters in Applied Finance (Macquarie) and further post graduate qualifications in applied math and statistics.

Formerly, Simon was Chief Credit Officer with executive responsibility for Board Risk and Capital at Investec Bank, Australia, focussing on credit, market, capital, funding liquidity, operational risks, and enterprise risk management.

Simon specialises in designing risk management and governance strategies appropriate to organisational context and risk appetite. He is a well-known industry speaker, and presenter at Macquarie Applied Finance Centre's Finance Professionals' Seminars.
