The latest MAFC prize winners announced

Big congratulations to the latest MAFC prize winners who were awarded their prizes at the recent Annual Alumni and Prize Winners’ Cocktail Reception, held on 11 June at the Museum of Sydney.
The night was a chance for the prize winners to celebrate their success as well as for MAFC alumni to catch up and network.
The event also featured guest speaker and MAFC Honorary Fellow, Simon Schwarz. As the recently appointed COO of SocietyOne, Simon spoke to the audience on “Innovation in finance: Building on the fundamentals. Lessons in the rise of peer-to-peer lending”. Simon will be presenting at an upcoming Finance Professionals Seminar in July.
Also presenting at the event was MAFC Director, Professor Kevin Jameson and Professor David Wilkinson, who presented the Proficiency Awards.
Outstanding MAFC student and overall prize winner, Dylan Rands also spoke to the audience and shared his experience at MAFC, how his studies are helping him in his finance career and the importance of graduate education for specialisation, career development, technical skill and foundation.
Dylan was awarded the following prizes:
- New South Wales Treasury Corporation Prize for Best Overall Performance in the Sydney Class
- Macquarie University Applied Finance Prize for Proficiency in the unit ‘Investment and Credit Analysis’
- Macquarie University Applied Finance Prize for Proficiency in the unit ‘Economics of Financial Markets’
- Macquarie University Applied Finance Prize for Proficiency in the unit ‘Equity Capital Markets’
