Who should apply
Master of Applied Finance
The Master of Applied Finance is for experienced professionals, whether currently in the finance industry or other professions wanting to transition to the finance sector (such as engineers, lawyers, or IT specialists).
There are alternative pathways into the program, recognising your prior qualifications and professional work experience. Macquarie University’s recognition of prior learning both from formal prior studies and gained through work experience, training programs, industry accredited qualifications and so forth can mean a reduction in the number of units of study.
Students who have completed the MAppFin Program have gone on to occupy senior positions within banking, corporate finance, stockbroking, investment management, venture capital, project finance and risk management firms in Australia and overseas.
The MAppFin is internationally recognised as an industry-leading applied program in graduate finance.
Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance
The Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance is for experienced finance professionals seeking advanced skills and knowledge in a specialised area of finance.
Graduate Certificate of Finance
Individuals with a non-finance background who are looking to transition into a career in the finance industry should apply for admission to the Graduate Certificate of Finance. Students will acquire the fundamental finance skills and knowledge needed to expand career options. Units completed in the Graduate Certificate of Finance will be recognised for admission to the Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and the Master of Applied Finance programs, when combined with relevant professional work experience.
For individuals who have just started their working lives and are thinking about future career progression, the Graduate Certificate of Finance is a pathway towards the industry leading Master of Applied Finance qualification.
Professionals having more than 5 years of work experience and with no prior formal studies, may be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate of Finance; providing a pathway to further graduate study.
